"Fine Nine" Award Winners
The 42nd
Annual Darryl Starbird Rod and Custom Car Show was better then ever with
over 1000 vehicles competing for cash and awards. Every possible nook and
cranny area packed with unbelievable show and go street vehicles.
The “Fine Nine“ go for
the Gold $20,000 was the most impressive display of cars ever in Tulsa or
matter of fact any show in the world. The competition was blown away by Gary
Chopppit and his latest bubble top creation an all metal sculptured master
piece almost a work of art instead of an automobile or street transportation
but it functions and performs in every aspect of the street transportation
vehicle.
With over 1000 vehicles
in competition the judging crew had a full weekend of decision making. The
top five in every category is given a trophy with over 80 categories. Best
of Show d’Excellence awards were given for Gold, Silver and Bronze,
$1000.00, $500.00 and $250.00 cash respectively. Rod – Custom –
Competition - Restored – Truck - Motorcycle all receive these d’Excellence
cash awards. Also 60 Statement awards were given to deserving entries.
To ease the competitive
atmosphere of the show the event had two stages of live entertainment an
American Dream Calendar Contest. Plus in the action arena Monster Truck
Races, Arena Tuff Truck Races and Motorcycle Free Style Jump off competition
were in progress throughout the weekend, in the same ten-acre open span
building under one roof. The 3000 plus exhibitors as well as over 60,000
spectators enjoyed the weekend.
